Organic search traffic is utmost important for the success of any blog. A post, if ranked high for any specific keyword, should have attractive title to get most of the clicks. Thus, your snippet should be optimized for good SEO.

When you search something on Google you see a Title in blue color along with permalink URL in green. There is also a little description called Meta description under the URL. These all are known as Snippet, they are the most important factor when it comes to SEO. Activate Yoast SEO Plugin for WordPress

• Download Yoast SEO plugin. Go to dashboard, under Plugins click on Add new and upload the plugin. You can even search for the plugin in plugin section of the dashboard.
• Install and activate the plugin.

How to Optimize Google Snippet Using SEO Plugin?

To optimize the snippet you just need to edit the post on the dashboard. At the bottom of the page, you will see a new section named Yoast SEO.

• In Yoast section, you can edit the Headline Title.
• Add Slug or URL.
• Add Meta Description.
• You can check the SEO of the page using a Focus Keyword.

Headline Title:

This is very important part of any post as the title will attract the users to click. The title should be catchy. One good thing about Yoast SEO is it allows you to edit snippet title without changing the H1 Headline of the post. Thus providing more options of your title to appear in search result.

Meta Description:

The meta description is the one which is indexed first by the Google so make sure your meta description is correct and has the keywords for which you wish your post to be ranked. Create a complete sentence which makes sense, just do not mix it up for the sake of ranking. Google will consider it as an inappropriate act by trying to prioritize in search results.

Slug or Permalink:

Yoast SEO is a great tool for making your URL SEO friendly. The Yoast plugin automatically creates a URL without any stop words (e.g and, it, the. for etc).

Focus Keyword:

Focus keyword is one which shows whether the post and the snippet have good or bad SEO score for particular keyword/s. You need to enter the keyword for which you wish to rank the post and the plugin will show you the score according to the set parameters.
